Fire destroys vehicle at downtown Mitchell car lot

Mitchell firefighters were on the scene of a vehicle fire at a car lot near downtown Mitchell this afternoon. Shortly before noon, a black pickup truck in the Vern Eide parking lot at 1st and Kimball caught fire. When fire crews arrived, the pickup was completely engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished quickly, but not before the pickup was destroyed. No injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were damaged in the fire.
