One killed in early Saturday morning crash in Charles Mix County near Geddes

Charles Mix County, S.D. (MITCHELL NOW)  A 57-year-old man died early Saturday morning in a single vehicle crash in Charles Mix County.

The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.

Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling west on 285th Street, about two miles east of Geddes, just before 2:30 AM when the vehicle entered the north ditch where it hit an approach and went airborne then rolled several times. The driver died as a result of his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.

The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
