MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) There have been several Penitentiary Inmate deaths this year, and Attorney General Marty Jackley says some have been tied to the same type of products involved in the recent sting operation involving several smoke shops. Jackley didn’t specifically identify the latest inmate to die in prison, but officials say inmate Keith McLain died earlier this week of an apparent suicide. Officials are waiting for toxicology reports to determine the cause of death. He was serving a second degree rape sentence from Minnehaha County.
