Mitchell Basketball

The Kernel basketball teams are back on the hardwood tonight. They are again split home/away as they prepare to face Pierre T.F. Riggs with the girls at home, but in the Corn Palace and the boys are on the road. It starts at 4pm with the boys freshman and JV teams playing, then at 4:30pm the freshman girls and JV will play. Then at 5:15pm you’ll have the sophomore boys and at 5:30pm the sophomore girls. Both varsity teams tip off at 7pm.

Mitchell Wrestling

The Kernel girls wrestling team will have a busy afternoon today. They’ll be competing in their Varsity Regional Tournament (Region 3), and they will do so at home. It’ll all go down in the Mitchell high school main gym and begin at 3pm.

Mitchell Hockey

The Marlins boys hockey team will be on the ice tonight. They’ll be on the road for their game against Aberdeen and will play at the Odde Ice Arena in the Odde Rink. The puck will drop at 8:30pm.

DWU Wrestling

The (RV) Tiger men’s wrestling team is set to hit the mats again tonight and tomorrow. They’ll compete in the GPAC Championships out in Orange City, IA. It is scheduled to begin at 2pm today.

DWU Track & Field

The Tiger track & field teams also have a busy day tonight and tomorrow. They’ll be competing in the GPAC Indoor Championships in Sioux Center, IA. It all gets started at 1pm.

DWU Softball

The Tiger softball team will have a tournament beginning this afternoon. They’ll compete in the Nelson Family Bubble Tournament in Jamestown, ND. First, they will face Minot State (D2) at 3:30pm and then face Dickinson State (ND) at 6pm.

SDSU Basketball

The Jackrabbit women’s basketball team took on Oral Roberts last night. SDSU had a battle on their hands as this game came down to the wire and Jackrabbits were able to hold on for a 95-93 victory. It was a big night for Brooklyn Meyer who dropped 44 points in the win on 15-for-22 (68.2%) from the field. The Jackrabbit women improve to 21-6 overall and 11-2 in the Summit League.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves return to action tonight following the All-Star break. They will host the Dallas Mavericks tonight at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN. Tipoff is slated for 6:30pm on ESPN.
