MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Crews are making steady progress installing new seats at the Corn Palace. According to the Mitchell Republic, about one-third of the new chairs are now in place, after workers put in long shifts this week. Project officials say the installation is a detailed process, with every piece bolted together by hand. The $374,000 project is expected to be finished next week, with final touches completed the following week. ADA platforms will be added in November, but the new seats will be ready in time for the Raise ’Em Rank bull riding event on October 4th and the start of Dakota Wesleyan University basketball later in the month.
