SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota lawmakers will meet again on September 23rd to consider a new $650 million men’s prison proposal in Sioux Falls. The plan trims about 160,000 square feet compared to the $825 million version legislators rejected earlier this year. It calls for 1,188 cell beds and 300 dorm beds, with reduced dayroom space that still exceeds national standards. Governor Larry Rhoden has released an online FAQ to answer questions ahead of the special session. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
