Mitchell Artist Wins Prestigious Midwest Disability Arts Award

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A Mitchell artist is being honored on a regional stage. Brianna Wiersema has been named one of nine recipients of the 2025 Midwest Award for Artists with Disabilities, chosen from more than 400 submissions. The award, now in its third year, celebrates the creativity and contributions of disabled artists across the Midwest. Winners each receive $3,000 to support their artistic practice.
