MITCHELL, SD (MITCHELL NOW)  The Mitchell City Council last night unanimously approved a FEMA grant of nearly $600,000 for construction of an emergency shelter at the Lake Mitchell Campground.  Mitchell Public Works Director Joe Schroeder says the city will be responsible for around $80,000 of the total cost of nearly $700,000.  The grant is through FEMA.  The city’s share would go toward construction of bathrooms and showers not covered by FEMA.  The nearly 2,000-foot shelter would hold up to 158 people and would be built at the Lake Mitchell Campground.
