MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell City Council will begin reviewing the city’s 2026 budget and capital projects during a work session tonight. Council President Tim Goldammer says the process is about balancing priorities while keeping Mitchell on track with its Forward2040 vision. He praised city departments for finding ways to grow despite rising costs, noting projects are sometimes delayed until grant funding or better timing is available. Goldammer says the budget review is a chance for residents to share their ideas on how to make the city stronger. The proposed 2026 budget will be unveiled at the meeting, which starts at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
