MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) After approving the murals last month, the Mitchell City Council is seeing progress at the Corn Palace, where the first patriotic-themed mural, titled “We The People,” is nearly complete. The Mitchell Republic says the artwork is a tribute to the U.S. Constitution, with eight more murals to be part of the 2026 theme, “250 Years of America.” Corn Palace officials expect all nine murals to be completed by the November 15 deadline.
