Mitchell Garbage Collection Starts at 7 a.m. on Presidents Day; Regional Landfill Closes at Noon

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The City of Mitchell has announced changes to garbage and landfill operations for Presidents Day.

Garbage collection on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, will begin at 7 a.m. and is expected to be completed by noon, according to the city.

The City of Mitchell Regional Landfill will also close at noon on Monday, Feb. 16.

Recycling collection will follow the regular City of Mitchell schedule.
