MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell Board of Education will decide today whether to sell its wind turbine at the Crow Lake Wind Farm. The board is first expected to declare the turbine surplus property, then consider a purchase offer from Basin Electric, which already owns most of the turbines at the site. The tower, appraised at $850,000, has been part of Mitchell Tech’s Wind Turbine Technology program since 2009. The Crow Lake Wind Farm, near White Lake, has been operating since 2011. The meeting will also cover new hires, policy reviews, fundraising updates, and a tour of the middle school. The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. at Mitchell Middle School and will be livestreamed by the Mitchell Republic. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
