Mitchell Tennis

The Kernel boys tennis team continues their Varsity State Tournament again this morning. They’re still out in Rapid City, SD at Sioux Park for their final day of competition. It begins again today at 8am.

Mitchell Golf

The Kernel girls golf team competed at the Brookings Country Club yesterday. Mitchell took third today on the road in Brookings, SD with three players in the Top 10. Londyn Hajek was 10th with an 82, Maddie Childs was seventh with a 79 and Mia Larson claimed sixth with a 78. They’ll be playing again today in Brandon, SD at Brandon Golf Course against Brandon Valley. Their tee time is set for 10am.

DWU Golf

Allison Meyerink is done at the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships in Ypsilanti, MI. Yesterday, Meyerink played her final day at Eagle Crest Golf Club. She ended up missing the cut to earn a final day of play in Michigan. Meyerink ended with a 14 over par finish – ending her season.

WNBA

The Minnesota Lynx hosted the Toronto Tempo at home last night looking for their first home win. It was domination from start to finish against Toronto as their stars struggled and Minnesota’s thrived. The Lynx had five players in double figures in their 100-72 win. They improved to 3-2 overall. Maya Caldwell led Minnesota with 16 points off the bench.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins will play tonight on the road. They’ll be up against the Boston Red Sox with first pitch at 6:10pm and the game will air on MLBTV/ESPN Unlimited.

NBA

The Eastern Conference Finals continued with Game 2 last night. It was the No. 3 seed New York Knicks who have now taken a 2-0 series lead after their 109-93 victory over the No. 4 seed Cleveland Cavaliers. Josh Hart led the scoring for New York with 26 points. The Western Conference Finals will have Game 3 tonight as the series shifts to Texas. The No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder will be at the No. 2 seed San Antonio Spurs. Tipoff will be at 7:30pm on NBC/Peacock.
