Mitchell weekend weather: Breezy Friday with a few sprinkles or flurries, then warmer highs into Monday

MITCHELL, SD (YOUR NEWS SITE) – Mitchell is in for a mostly quiet stretch of early February weather, with sunshine Thursday, a brief chance of light precipitation Friday, and a warmer trend heading into Sunday and Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, a few sprinkles could develop late Thursday night into Friday, with a chance they mix with flurries Friday morning before skies trend brighter. Breezy conditions will be a theme at times, especially late Thursday night, Friday, and again Saturday.

Thursday (Feb. 5): Sunny, with a high near 60. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Thursday night: A chance of sprinkles after 5 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 35. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph after midnight. Gusts as high as 35 mph.

Friday (Feb. 6): A chance of sprinkles, mixing with flurries after 8 a.m., then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with temperatures falling to around 34 by late afternoon. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph. Gusts as high as 35 mph.
Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20. North-northeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming south-southeast after midnight. Gusts as high as 25 mph.

Saturday (Feb. 7): Partly sunny, with a high near 48. Breezy, with a south-southeast wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. South-southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight.

Sunday (Feb. 8): Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.
Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 34.

Monday (Feb. 9): Partly sunny, with a high near 62.
