Nominations Open for South Dakota’s First-Ever “Rising Award” Honoring Community Leaders

PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Nominations are now being accepted for the state’s first-ever Rising Award.  South Dakota’s First Lady, Sandy Rhoden, says she wants to recognize South Dakotans who bring a positive light to their respective communities.  The South Dakota Rising Award has multiple categories, including healthy, innovative, and servant rising stars, each with their own definition of why it applies to a recipient.  Nominations are open until November 3rd, as those chosen will be recognized in early December with a special ceremony in Pierre.  Nominations can be submitted online or by mail, as more details are posted on the South Dakota Governor’s website – governor.sd.gov.
