BROOKINGS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Federal investigators have released more information about a plane crash at the Brookings Airport earlier this month that injured three men. The NTSB says the single-engine plane went down on September 6th, just minutes after takeoff. The pilot, Evan Koep of Brookings, reported vibrations, a loud bang, and a loss of engine power before trying to circle back. He attempted an emergency landing in a grass field, but the plane hit hard and caught fire. Koep and passenger Caden Walkes pulled an unconscious passenger, Hayden Kerkart, from the wreckage. All three survived, but the aircraft was destroyed. The plane was headed to Bozeman, Montana. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
