VERMILLION, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The South Dakota Supreme Court is holding its October term this week at the Knudson School of Law in Vermillion. Among the eight cases being heard is a high-profile sinkhole lawsuit from Black Hawk’s Hideaway Hills neighborhood. Residents allege the state failed to properly reclaim land built over an old gypsum mine, leading to a massive 2020 sinkhole that forced 13 homes to evacuate. Oral arguments are scheduled for today and tomorrow, with livestreaming available for two of the cases. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
