Mitchell Basketball

The Kernel basketball teams return home tonight in Mitchell, SD as they get set to host Sioux Falls Lincoln. It begins with the boys/girls JV at 3:30pm with the boys in the auxiliary gym and girls in the main. Then the sophomore boys/girls will play at 4:45pm with boys in the auxiliary gym and girls in the main. Freshman boys play at 6pm in the auxiliary gym. Varsity teams will end the night with the (RV) Kernels girls playing first at 6pm and then the Kernel boys playing at 7:30pm.

Mitchell Wrestling

The Kernel wrestling teams were in competition last night at Sioux Falls Jefferson high school for a Varsity Triangular for the boys and the girls. The girls came up short to Brookings and lost 30-29. The boys also could not come away with a win and lost 17-4.

Mitchell Hockey

The Marlins girls hockey team is set for action tonight on the ice. They will be in Mitchell, SD at the Mitchell Activities Center playing in the Toshiba Rink against Oahe. The puck will drop at 6pm.

DWU Track & Field

The Tiger track & field teams are going to be back in action today. They’re going to be in Seward, NE for the Concordia Classic. This is a two-day event. It will begin at 2pm today and 9am tomorrow.

DWU Wrestling

The (RV) Tiger men’s wrestling team and the women’s team competed against Waldorf last night in the Battle at Bowman V. The men got a 32-21 win and the women fell 43-6.

The Minnesota Timberwolves took on the Oklahoma City Thunder last night at home in Minneapolis, MN. Despite 30 points from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, it wasn’t enough to get the win over Minnesota. The Timberwolves got the win, 123-111. Anthony Edwards led the scoring effort with 26 points. Six players were in double figures. Minnesota improves to 30-19 overall.
