Tonight’s Area HS Hoops games, Mitchell taking on Sioux Falls Washington tomorrow, DWU Baseball eight game start & NBA All-Star Weekend results

Tonight’s Basketball Games

  • Kimball/White Lake @ Bridgewater-Emery at 4pm (girls)
  • Ethan vs Leola/Frederick Area at 6pm (boys)
  • Tri-Valley @ McCook Central/Montrose at 7:15pm (girls)
  • Wolsey-Wessington @ De Smet at 7:30pm (boys)

Mitchell Basketball

The Kernel basketball teams return to the court tomorrow after a week off from game action. They’ll be taking on Sioux Falls Washington with girls at home and boys on the road. Boys/girls JV and boys freshman all play at 4pm, then the sophomore boys/girls play at 5:15pm. It all ends with the varsity teams as the (RV) Kernel girls play at home at 7pm and the boys start at the same time on the road.

DWU Baseball

The Tiger baseball team got back in rhythm over the weekend with a four-game sweep of the Dickinson State Blue Hawks in Mitchell, SD. Wins of 6-3 and 5-4 on Saturday, then 4-3 and 5-1 yesterday afternoon. That marks a now 6-2 start for DWU baseball and the best eight-game start under head coach Charlie Dubanoski.

NBA

The NBA held its All-Star festivities over the weekend. The Miami Heat’s Keshad Johnson won the dunk contest, Team Knicks (Allan Houston, Karl-Anthony Towns & Jalen Brunson) won the Shooting Stars Challenge, Damian Lillard won the 3-point contest, Team Vince won the Rising Stars competition and Team Stars won the All-Star game under the new format. Anthony Edwards was named the All-Star game MVP.
