Mitchell Golf

The Kernel boys golf team competed in Brookings at the Brookings Golf Club yesterday. Mitchell finished tied for seventh as a team at 16 over par. Two athletes were inside the Top 10. In sixth was Everett Morrison who finished at even par and Asher Dannenbring got second after getting one under par.

Mitchell Tennis

The Kernel girls tennis team returns to the courts today. They’ll be hosting a Varsity Triangular here in Mitchell. It will all be held at Hitchcock Park and begin at 11am.

Mitchell Soccer

The Kernel boys soccer team will be in action tonight here in Mitchell. Varsity will host Vermillion at Joe Quintal Field at 6pm with the JV playing first at 4pm.

DWU Soccer

The Tiger women’s soccer team will be playing here in Mitchell tonight. They will be at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex facing the Dakota State Trojans at 6pm.

DWU Golf

The Tiger women’s golf team continues in their final day of a three-day competition at Willow Creek Golf Club. It is the Northwest Iowa National Invitational Tournament. Start time today is TBD.

DWU Volleyball

The (RV) Tiger volleyball team will be hosting a game in town tomorrow. They will play in the Christen Athletic Center against the Dordt Defenders at 7:30pm.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins faced the New York Yankees last night at home. It was a shutout in favor of the Twins as they won it 7-0. Simeon Woods Richardson struck out a career-high 11 batters over six innings and Austin Martin drove in four runs in the win. These two teams play again tonight at 6:40pm.

WNBA

The No. 1 seed Minnesota Lynx will take on the No. 8 seed Golden State Valkyries in Game 2 tomorrow night. They will be on the road at 9pm on ESPN looking to close out the series.

Two Delta Air Lines regional jets collided on the taxiway at LaGuardia Airport in New York, injuring a flight attendant, damaging a cockpit and tearing off part of a wing in what the airline described as a "low-speed collision."
