Mitchell Golf
The Kernel boys golf team competed in Watertown yesterday and had another strong day. They finished in second as a team with a 13 over par total score. Three athletes finished in the Top 15. Everett Morrison was 14th with a four over par score, while Jordan Meyerink ended in 10th with a two over par score – marking his best competitive round and earning him his first varsity medal. Asher Dannenbring led the Kernels and finished in sixth with a one over par score.
Mitchell Tennis
The Kernel girls tennis team will be on the road again tomorrow afternoon. They will travel to Huron to compete in a Varsity Dual at the Huron Courts at Huron high school at 4pm.
Mitchell Soccer
The Kernel soccer teams will be home tomorrow night for their Senior night at Joe Quintal Field. They will be facing Pierre, and the girls will play first at 4pm and the boys will play at 6pm
DWU Soccer
The Tiger soccer teams will both see the field tonight and will play in Mitchell at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex. They will be hosting the Dordt Defenders with the men playing first at 5pm and the women will start at 7:30pm.
DWU Volleyball
The No. 24 Tiger volleyball team is on the road today for competition. They’ll be in Sioux City, Iowa at the Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center taking on the Morningside Mustangs at 7:30pm.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins took on a depleted Texas Rangers team who shut down their stars Corey Seager & Marcus Semien officially for the season. They took advantage of this and defeated the Rangers, 4-1. These two teams will play again tonight at 7:05pm.
WNBA
The WNBA Semifinals had a pair of Game 2’s last night. The No. 4 seed Phoenix Mercury ended up tying the series 1-1 after their overtime victory over the No. 1 seed Minnesota Lynx, 89-83. The No. 2 seed Las Vegas Aces set out to even things up as well against the No. 6 seed Indiana Fever and they did just that. It was a dominant 90-68 win to even the series at 1-1. 2025 MVP Aja Wilson led the way with 25 points, nine rebounds and five steals.
NFL
Tomorrow is Thursday Night Football on Prime Video. It will be the Seattle Seahawks at the Arizona Cardinals at 7:15pm at State Farm Stadium.
